When the Iredell County Animal Shelter issued a Wish List of items needed to help the dogs and cats have a merry Christmas many animal lovers jumped in to help.

Initially, the Humane Society of Iredell asked for donations of food, treats, leashes and other supplies to be dropped off at the shelter on Twin Oaks Road, reported Jane Stiles of the Humane Society.

However, Glenda Green, who owns Pet Nanas TLC, a pet-sitting service, was concerned that people with donations might not be able to drive to the shelter to drop them off.

So she sent a letter and a flyer to all of her clients asking for their help. She also contacted local businesses that have agreed to be additional drop-off points and collect supplies for the Shelter.

Thanks to the following businesses for volunteering to be drop off locations: Elysian Echo, Doggone Delicious Gourmet Pet Bakery, Doug Madison Realty, Tractor Supply, Southern States, Poodleduck Co. and Pet Store, and The Feed Bucket.
